MISSILES, DRONES AND NOW… IT’S GETTING SERIOUS: WHITE PHOSPHORUS

It is the New York Times that brings us the news: on 30 May, the Israeli army broke the very last taboo possible in a war that is not only the ruin of the Palestinian people but also the destruction of any moral dignity of the Israeli people: the use of banned chemical weapons. It was the 40,000 inhabitants of Nabatieh and three smaller towns – Qlayaa, Khiam and Yohmor – in Lebanon who saw the white streaks of the deadly American-made white phosphorus shells appear in the sky, shattering in mid-air and setting fire to everything they encountered as they fell to the ground. Its use against civilian populations is prohibited under international law due to
the fatal burns it inflicts on those struck, and the contamination of agricultural land and groundwater, which it pollutes for many years to come.
The Lebanese government has sent letters of protest and complaint to the UN. All means are permissible for Israel in its war of extermination. The UN is already dead, and Lebanon does not know it.
