THE PHARMACY: A KEY PARTNER IN THE HEALTH CAMPAIGN

The Banco Farmaceutico Foundation is once again supporting GSI Italia in its healthcare initiatives around the world. From Libya to the Congo, from Ethiopia to Togo and Ukraine, Banco has always been ready to provide GSI Italia with the medicines needed to tackle emergency situations and provide assistance to the poorest and most disadvantaged communities.
The organisation collects more than one and a half million euros’ worth of medicines each year. 18,000 volunteers make this endeavour possible, whilst 4,500 pharmacies voluntarily facilitate this charitable and social initiative.
Following the participation on 27 February in Perugia, at the press conference presenting the Health Campaign for Palestine, by the president of Banco, Dr Sergio Daniotti, a visit took place on 16 April to the headquarters of GSI Italia in Spoleto by Mauro Galli from the Milan office and Franca Proietti, head of Banco in Umbria.
The meeting served to confirm the Banco’s commitment to the Campaign, with an estimated financial contribution of between 150,000 and 200,000 euros, and to plan and agree on the storage and dispatch of materials to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. A strategic alliance for the Campaign, building on a valuable tradition of continuity.
