SPECIALIZATION INTERNSHIP OF ETHIOPIAN HEALTHCARE STAFF IN FOLIGNO AND TREVI

The training internship in physiotherapy of two Ethiopian health professionals from the University of Gondar has recently ended in Foligno and Trevi. This activity, foreseen within the health program that GSI Italia has been conducting for some years in this African country, has received an important recognition from the Terzo Pilastro Internazionale Foundation with the approval of a professional training project for doctors and physiotherapists at the University of Gondar and in St Paul’s Hospital in Addis Ababa.

The intervention program of GSI Italia in Ethiopia, in agreement with the local Ministry of Health and the two important health centers of Gondar and Addis Ababa, is the preparation of qualified personnel in a sufficiently high number, to ensure the rehabilitation of people affected by serious and various trauma.

The collaboration between the General Direction of the Local Health Authority and GSI Italia will continue in 2023 with an extensive training program for medical and paramedical personnel in the two health centers mentioned, with missions of Italian doctors and physiotherapists of the two Umbrian health authorities and of the Federico II University of Naples.
