REPORT FROM SOUTH UBANGI
Report by the journalist Francesco De Augustinis, recently returned from Gemena, Kuma and Budjala, the area of intervention of GSI Italia in South Ubangi, in the north of Congo. A timely analysis, with images and interviews, on the food crisis that sees GSI Italia engaged from 2024 to 2026 with resources from the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Hunger and tribal conflicts make the humanitarian intervention of our Association difficult, which with the microcredit tool represents a useful agency for financing income-generating activities that would otherwise be impossible in social situations of extreme poverty.
Agricultural and livestock training and financial resources for the creation of family and community gardens, the transformation and conservation of land products, the start of small-scale animal breeding, and the development of small businesses, started by GSI Italia with the resources of the project, favor the fight against malnutrition and the embryonic development of micro-enterprises, environmentally and socially sustainable.
Nice reading and listening.
