CUBIC METRES OF DRUGS BETWEEN GSI ITALIA AND THE ORDER OF MALTA

The more than ten-year partnership between the Sovereign Order of Malta and the Association continues.

On April 10th, GSI Italia handed over to the Order of Malta another two cubic meters of drugs for a value of 67 thousand euros, to be sent to Italian hospitals abroad.

Let us remember in 2018 our support for the Italian military hospital in Misurata, in Libya in conflict. The new front of common interest of assistance with the supply of medicines and medical devices is that in favor of the Italian hospital in Damascus, in Assad’s Syria in war against armed rebels but also against the defenseless population now reduced to hunger and total absence of care. The country is under embargo by the United States and European allies, with the population fleeing and decimated by the war without quarter between government forces, ISIS and rebel armed forces.

The proposal of the Order of Malta to intervene together in the field of health care may represent the new front of engagement of GSI Italia as soon as the embargo and the armed conflict allow it, we hope soon.
