ANOTHER PROJECT FUNDED TO GSI ITALIA BY THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION

2018 has been a fruitful year for projects approved to our association by the European Commission. After the project YOUNG DECISION MAKERS GROW approved by the National Agency for Youth, within the Erasmus + program, we recently received the communication of the third project, PROMISE. During this two-year project ten associations of many European countries  will face Roma issues from the Roma side. GSI Italia is not new to this issue because it had three projects on this topic approved by Brussels in the past years. Roma population, by tradition and nomadic culture, has increasingly become sedentary in the European urban suburbs without finding an integration with the local populations. The historical moment is made difficult for them also by the growing sovereign policies. Civil society organizations such as GSI Italia, with investiture and European resources, have the task of fostering their peaceful coexistence in our communities and paths of integration that tear them from the conditions of poverty and marginalization in which they live.
