DISTANCE LEARNING AND SPECIALIST CONSULTANCY FOR GAZA

The Health Campaign for Palestine is expanding to include a new service for healthcare professionals at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis: distance learning for nurses and physiotherapists, comprising online modules on topics chosen by the Palestinian healthcare professionals, with discussions held in a virtual classroom every seven days. The first module chosen by the nurses is the care of patients with colostomies. Indeed, there are many people with abdominal wounds who require this type of procedure. Doctors from GSI Italia, SoSolidarietà in Salerno and Sanitari per Gaza in Piacenza are also providing weekly consultations for staff at Nasser Hospital; these currently cover dermatology and cardiology, with consultations on the interpretation of laboratory slides to follow shortly.
