This is the kind of tourism that still hasn\u2019t realised that it\u2019s money that counts, wherever it comes from. And to hell with the sanctimonious types, clinging to the nonsense of bygone eras, such as law, morality and justice. That\u2019s stuff for priests and for those incapable of living in the world in the only way one ought to.<\/p>\n<p>And so it is that companies like Booking and Airbnb advertise stays on Israeli settlers\u2019 farms \u2013 farms and land stolen at gunpoint, with the assistance of the Israeli army, from Palestinian families.<\/p>\n<p>And this is also how Israeli soldiers, to work off the murderous ferocity they\u2019ve been engaging in in the Gaza Strip, come \u2013 with the help of Booking and Airbnb \u2013 to \u2018unwind\u2019 in Sardinia, Puglia and Campania, protected by the Digos. But weren\u2019t they supposed to be arrested for war crimes? I must have missed a few bits of the government\u2019s statements. Shouldn\u2019t we shut down the International Court, which issues rulings that make European governments \u2013 and especially their ministers of justice \u2013 laugh every time?<\/p>\n<p>Except for Greece, which this year, under pressure from the inhabitants of its islands, refused to allow cruise ships carrying Israeli military personnel on a \u2018protected holiday\u2019 to dock at its ports.<br \/>\nA practical tip for you, the readers, to be taken as a civic duty and an act of resistance: search for accommodation on Booking.com, Airbnb, Expedia, eDreams and others, but then make your bookings directly on the website of the hotel, guesthouse or restaurant where you have chosen to spend your holidays or your leisure or business trip.
