- The financial statements as at 31 December 2010 amounting to Euro 1,809,209 have been closed and approved.
- In Sokodè (Togo) the GSI programme “Support to the self-promotion of 200 women living in the rural communities of Kaboli, Mazada and Toukoudjou, Diocese of Sokodè, Central Region, Togo", whose objective was to stimulate socio-economic promotion through microcredit came to an end.
- In Mexico, in the villages of Pucnacheu, Tankuchè and Campeche a new project called “Food safety and Craftsmanship development” has recently started; it is financed by the Cei (Italian Bishops Conference), and will last 3 years. The local identified partner is El Hombre sobre la Tierra, the Mexican NGO which was established in the Yucatan region by GSI Italia thanks to Sigismondo Lucidi’s contribution, a volunteer living in the target territory and one of our collaborator since 10 years.
- In Marrakesh, Morocco, the project “Socio-Economic Promotion of Disadvantaged Women” in the Marrakech region, Tanssif Al Haouz, will start in September with the local partner AEDF. The project is financed by the CEI.
- When wedding gifts meet international solidarity. In memory of Giuseppe Gallopin, who died young in Rozzano, Lombardy, GSI Italia is going to use money collected during the wedding of one of his friends to carry out a solidarity action in Togo.
- The CONTAINER GSI Italia sent to Burkina Faso has come to destination, in Dissin, in the province of Joba. It contains an electrical accumulator powered by photovoltaic panels and is able to ensure water, electricity and internet connection to one thousand women, members of the local association Faa i Tuora.
- Mission in Skopje, Macedonia, within the project “A support platform for voluntary service”, Europe for Citizens, Action 1, Measure 2.2, of which GSI Italia is a partner. A midterm meeting was held between the four associations coming from France, Germany, Macedonia and Italy, to discuss how to promote voluntary service in the respective countries through establishing associations and collaborating with local authorities.
- LET THE ROMA YOUTH BE HEARD. After the journalism training destined to 40 Roma young people coming from eight different countries, Italy, France, Germany, Romania, Spain, Hungary, Greece and Turkey, held in Spoleto from March 30 to April 4, another step was the foundation of the ROMAGAZINE, online newspaper edited in collaboration with the association Informatici senza frontiere (Computer Scientists Without Borders), and supervised by Mr. Andrea Gerli, journalist. It is a newspaper on which Roma people can narrate how they live in their respective communities and which will allow debating on ideas and experiences from many European young people.
- New look for the association website made in collaboration with Akabit, Perugia.
- Changeover from GSI Italia to CIPSI as representing partner for Italy in the Board of Directors of the European Civic Forum.
- Two researches within the call -POR UMBRIA FSE 2007-2013 Axis II “Employment”, Specific objective “e” - Axis IV “Human Capital”, Specific objective “l” – Research grants, which is intended to enhance research activities and technological transfer in public and private agencies and institutions and innovation poles” on migrant’s remittances and on the promotion of “certified” carers.
